See comments about Tunebook #1 above. A selection of 24 tunes to supplement Rainbow Guitar Book 2 – again printed without the colours to help the pupil move seamlessly to reading ordinary black notes.
This is an extended version of the piece on page 16 of Rainbow Guitar Book 2. Lively open string part develops right hand skills, with alternating thumb and finger strokes. Simple modal melody and an optional more advanced descant part.
An extra solo piece which will be enjoyed by any pupil working on the final section of Rainbow Guitar Book 2. Thumb picks out a melody on lower strings, while the index finger plays a B drone on the 2nd string. Other fingers can rest on 1st string.
An open-ended jam track using chords of Am7 and Em7. It can be used as accompaniment for many of the broken chord patterns and ostinatos in Rainbow Guitar Book 2. Pupils can also use it in a looser way, to try out their own riffs and ostinatos or to practice freer improvisation.
A blues-tinged solo piece which will be enjoyed by any pupil working on the final section of Rainbow Guitar Book 2. Thumb picks out a melody on lower strings, while the index finger plays a B drone on the 2nd string. Other fingers can rest on 1st string.
The melodies appear in Rainbow Guitar Book 2 (p4 and p9) and a bass part to fit both tunes can be found on p6. The two tunes together make an attractive school concert item, and this extra easy alto part can be added if you wish.
A blank version of the fretboard illustration which appears throughout Rainbow Guitar Book 2. A neat way of showing where the notes go on the fingerboard, and at the same time where they go on the stave. Print it off and use it any time to test your knowledge and memory.
A print-your-own set of Rainbow Guitar flashcards. Featuring all the notes in first position on the guitar with each card shown a) in black and white and b) in its Rainbow Guitar colour. ( If you wish you could stick these back-to-back and create a double-sided card for each note).
You need all three zip files to make up a complete set.
